"For even I, the Son of Man, came here not to be served but to serve others, and to give my life as a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:29 NLT)

“King David replied, … I will not take what is yours and give it to the Lord. I will not present burnt offerings that have cost me nothing!” ( I Chronicles 21:24) NLT)

Jesus left us an example of service that goes far beyond filling a need in a ministry, or choosing an area of interest to “try out.” Although each of these are not “bad” by any means – Jesus had much more in mind for us as he knelt at the feet of His disciples and washed their feet – bending His knee to lift them up, and providing a picture of serving that floods our minds and cannot be shaken.

As we invite the Holy Spirit to fill us, lay our lives out before Him, and offer Him greater and greater access to our lives – it is then that we will begin to get a glimpse of who He is and all that He wants us to experience.

At Lake Center Bible Church, you will hear these words over and over again:
"You will never be more fully alive than when you are directly involved in the transformation of another person's life."

What are you willing to give for Him? Where will you serve, and with what heart? Will you pay a price to serve the One with nail-scarred hands?
